ABSN Track Admissions Process

Before entering Mercer University’s Second Degree Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) track, you will need to take several actions as part of our admissions process.

1. Talk with an Enrollment Counselor

Before you apply, we need to get to know you. Mercer’s ABSN track is a significant commitment of time and effort, and we want to make sure you are well-positioned for success. After you fill out the form here on our website, you’ll get a call from an enrollment counselor dedicated to serving the needs of our Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing track applicants.

In your initial phone call, you’ll discuss why you want to be a nurse, your academic qualifications and career goals, financial considerations, and next steps. Throughout the process, your counselor will be your main point of contact.

2. Develop Your Academic Plan

The next step in the admissions process is to put together an academic plan listing the steps you will need to take to qualify for application and enrollment to the Mercer ABSN track. Steps include reviewing your transcripts to determine any requirements you’ll need to meet, as well as any prerequisite courses you’ll need to take.

Additionally, your enrollment counselor will work with you to set a specific start date in Mercer’s accelerated nursing track, in May, August, or January.

To be admitted into the Mercer accelerated nursing track, you must take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) and achieve a minimum composite score of 76 or higher.

5. Submit Your Nursing School Application
